What is Iron Sommelier?
Iron Sommelier is Houston’s premier wine-tasting and sommelier competition featuring the city’s most prestigious sommeliers competing for the title of Iron Sommelier. The event benefits The Periwinkle Foundation.
When is Iron Sommelier?
Iron Sommelier will take place on Thursday, November 7, 2024
Where is Iron Sommelier hosted?
Guests will have the opportunity to join us in a private setting at The Post Oak Hotel at Uptown Houston.
Can I purchase an individual ticket to Iron Sommelier?
Individual tickets will be available Fall 2024.
How many wines can I expect to taste?
Presented in a ballroom setting, each sommelier will select three wines that focus on a particular region, grape, or style and personally present these wines for you to taste. In addition, underwriters will be served additional rare wines paired with dinner.
How will the competing sommeliers be judged?
Competing sommeliers will be judged the evening of November 7th by our Master Sommelier judges. Guests may cast their “corks” for the People’s Choice Award.
When will the Iron Sommelier Champion be announced?
The Iron Sommelier Champion will be announced at The Post Oak Hotel the evening of November 7th.
What are other components of Iron Sommelier?
Guests will have access to an exciting wine pull, auction, raffle, and Children’s Art sales.
